I could say it started almost a year ago, when we started working with the architect to design it. But that could just be called planning and preparation.
I could say it started a couple weeks back, when it was staked out in the meadow in back of our house. But no visible signs (beyond a couple stakes of rebar with plastic caps) of work were present.
But today it "really" started, as there's a backhoe visible from the window by the computer, currently digging up the meadow. Here are some of the before pictures (yes, the trailer in the background is where we've lived for the past 3 years). I'll include some after shots once the digging's finished (hopefully later today). Foundation work (concrete, rebar, footings, etc) is supposed to start Monday.

I have been wondering how things were going on the house. Congratulations on getting started. I'll be watching for progress.
