Painting's done

I've (re-)discovered something that one of my friends once told me. I am not a good capitalist. Or at least not a good consumer. Spending money does not bring me happiness.

This ties into why I haven't posted for the past few months. As the house has progressed (drywall, trim, painting, etc), we've been investigation some long-term purchases (applicances, flooring, light fixtures, knobs for the cabinetry, etc). And we've both agreed that too much more of this and we'll start hunting for a furnished apartment. The investigations, decision making (which color of taupe do we want to paint the house, which shade of white the ceiling, what shade of brown the exterior... color and type of knob, microwave, tile, grout, ad infinitum, ad naseum) and such take up the energy that would otherwise be used for blogging, juggling, music, and the other things that make life worth living.

Now that I've provided the mandatory explanation of why I haven't blogged, here are some pictures.

The upstairs:

Downstairs bathroom, tall sink for adults, short sink for kids.

Stairs. There was some empty space at the turn of the stairs, so we had a small bookcase added. We can always use more space for books.
